Fuel management tool is an optional tool that allows users to manage and configure fuel tanks. Multiple fuel tanks can be configured and managed within the same car profile if the car uses more than one type of fuel, e.g. gasoline + LPG.
Once a fuel tank is added and configured, estimated vehicle range, fuel level and time left become available for the user. The dash menu (inside the tachometer) that shows instantaneous and average fuel consumption will show additional parameters (estimated fuel level and range of vehicle)
value of parameters (range of vehicle, time left) will adjust gradually over initial driven distance (~100 km / ~60 miles) and will provide good estimations, provided your fuel consumption is calibrated accurately
Please be aware that on older Honda vehicles the fuel level sending unit is not connected to the ECU, which means the information about the current fuel level must be provided by the user manually on each refuel event by using the function Record refuel (default app behavior for HOBD, HTS/eCtune/BMTune protocol; other protocols may provide the fuel level parameter automatically if supported). However, the app can be configured to provide the fuel level information automatically via a custom parameter.
Tips
You can edit the estimated fuel level value by clicking it directly or three vertical dots next to it, however, use the direct edit function only if you already calibrated your fuel consumption! Direct editing is provided only for readjusting the estimated fuel level if it starts to deviate too much over time when the user refuels only partially and not fully.
Consumption calibration procedure
at a gas station, fill up the tank fully (in order to get a reference level);
open the fuel management dialog (in app's toolbox), add a new fuel tank if you haven't configured one yet, then tap Calibrate consumption and tap Start calibration (if the calibration is already running, cancel it and start it again)
drive as usually, at least 100 km (60 miles), if you want to save fuel, but for better results use all fuel until the low fuel indicator goes on
at a gas station, fill up the tank fully again, open the fuel consumption calibration dialog, tap Finish calibration, enter the amount of fuel you've filled up, tap Calibrate
Tips
you can change the calibration factor manually by clicking the pen icon next to the percentage value indicating by how much the fuel consumption calculation is being adjusted
for most accurate calibration, make sure you have the app always running while driving and have not lowered the queue level (App Settings → Car → ECU → Parameters → Read frequency) of engine rotational speed (REV), injection duration (DUR-INJ) and manifold absolute pressure (MAP) parameters, which are used to estimate the fuel flow
