So you're in market for a diagnostics code scanner for the 3 pin / 5 pin DLC diagnostics connector that you found in your Honda. Your first steps will inevitably lead you to Ebay and it's lucrative super cheap goods from China.
You'll come across a "conversion cable" that converts 3 pin to 16 pin style socket that is OBDII compliant, thus, in theory, making it possible to use scanners such as the ubiquitous ELM 327 scanner, which one can buy cheaply in abundance.
This should work then, right?
Well, NOT at all...
Well, NOT at all...
These "conversion cables" can indeed work as advertised, but ONLY if you couple them with very expensive professional grade diagnostics scanners that cost upwards of 500 EUR. Cheap scanners based on cloned ELM 327 chipset, not only use buggy firmware, but also lack any form of support for communication protocol used by Honda for sending data over the 3 pin / 5 pin diagnostics DLC connector.
Rather than experimenting and throwing money away on useless Chinese stuff, use our countless times proven solutions for your Honda.
Miloše svaka ti čast !! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
